The Arts Centre Cootamundra has had a busy school holiday period, with the exciting times not expected to stop anytime soon.

Throughout the school holidays, the Arts Centre have already had screenings of movies such as The Bad Guys, The Bob’s Burger Movie, as well as upcoming screenings Lightyear which will air tomorrow (Friday 15th July), Jurassic World:

Dominion (Sunday 24th July) and The Drovers Wife:

The Legend of Molly Johnson (Sunday 31st July). Along with the movie screenings, kids have also been kept busy with the Arts Centre Cootamundra hosting their ‘Play with Clay’ event last Tuesday, where kids aged 7-12 years old had the opportunity to get their hands dirty and have fun making clay creations.

On Tuesday this week also saw the Little Wing Puppets presenting the ‘The Owl’s Apprentice’ shadow puppet show for the kids, which proved to be a fantastic event.

But that’s not all, with even more events upcoming at the Arts Centre this month and into August.

Being held today, Thursday 14th July, is the second session of the ‘Paint and Punch’, the Art Centre’s child friendly version of ‘Booze and Brushes’ for the adults.

As a group, children will follow the instructions to create their own painting masterpiece.

The image chosen for this session is the sunflower.

Tomorrow night, Friday 15th July, the Arts Centre will be hosting ‘A Night of Music’ event alongside the Riverina Music School, with the night starting at 6:30pm featuring a night of singing from local talented musicians.

The mid-year vocal workshop with Geraldine Ryan will finish with a very special one night event showcasing both group and individual talent.

Bookings are essential and costs $5 for admission.

Attendees are encouraged to bring their own food and drinks.

Next month will see the Arts Centre host the Apron Project Showcase ‘Flora and Fauna’, which aims to educate and raise awareness of domestic violence in towns across NSW.

The exhibition features artwork on aprons of flora and fauna around the world, with the exhibition running 10am-4pm daily from Saturday 6th to Thursday 11th August.

Cost of admission to the exhibition costs a gold coin donation at the door, with all money raised going to the Young Crisis Care Accommodation Centre.
